Hmmmmm ....

Amorous Swedes to Get Emergency Condom Deliveries

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - A Swedish aid organization will roll out a new line of defense to the country's emergency services next week -- the condom ambulance.

From Friday, June 4, amorous couples can call the telephone number 696969 and a white van featuring a large red condom with wings as a logo will deliver them a packet of 10 prophylactics.

"We need to increase the usage of condoms," said Carl Osvald, marketing manager for the Swedish Organization for Sex Education, the non-governmental organization behind the initiative. "It is 50 percent about pregnancy and 50 percent about sexually transmitted diseases."

The ambulances will operate in Stockholm and the southern cities of Malmo and Gothenberg. The service, aimed at young people, will run until June 25 and be available between four in the afternoon and nine at night.

A packet of 10 condoms will cost 50 crowns ($6.72), less than they cost on average in the shops.

my bet is...it has little to do with sex education and all the more to do with having a good marketing campain....some condom maker came up with this idea for sure.

needles is something I can't abide. We used to get used ones dumped in our yard...but haven't in a couple of year now. Oh that used to make me Hubby so mad. We were scared to let our kids play outside.

That is horrible! I bought a rent house a few years ago and found them everywhere. It was amazing how many we found. Scary!

I just don't understand people sometimes. you would think they would not want people to know...and would at least put them in a trash can and see to it they were hauled off!

It's not that they don't want people to know ... it's that they are so strung out that they just don't care!

I don't understand that either...why would someone want to be so out of control?

They don't know they are out of control.

how could they not? I just don't understand it....when I have had surgery and they get me something for pain...I could tell I was not in full control...and I didn't like that feeling. I don't understand how they could not tell.

Pain meds are downers, right?

The drugs they put into their veins are uppers .... they feel supernatural and totally in control of everything.

oh...didn't think of it like that. Thanks for the splaining. I was just thinking about how anything anyone ever gave me with a needle felt. First off all...the needle was scarey...hurt like the dickens...sometimes makes me pass out...and when I do come to...I can't think right or make my body act right. that scares me worse than the needle. I ain't never understood how someone would want to do that to themselves.

I have taken stitches before...without a thing for pain...cause i figured the needle and the lidocain hurt worse than the stitches....and I was right.

I dont like needles either! Only let the Doc stick me with one in a last resort. I have given myself my own stitches before without something to ease the pain.
