Why do puppies lick your face? They're instinctively looking for scraps of food.

The founders of Google, who are on Forbes's list of billionaires, were only paid a $150,000 salary in 2003.

Okay, so tell June...and along with who it is, tell exactly how the church got them sensored...or if church's just actually petitioned for the banning.....which of course would be anyone's right....but if a church sensored it, then there must be a certain church...which one? and who was in charge? for certainly the minister, preacher, father, rabbi, etc...must have some sort of political pull. Just curious....for this trivia, I'd like the actual fully factual story. :D

Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour. (Who volunteers for this stuff?)

Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure. (Is that why Flipper was always smiling?)

The ant can lift 50 times its own weight, can pull 30 times its own weight and always falls over on its right side when intoxicated. (From drinking little bottles of . ?) (Did the government pay for this research??)

Butterflies taste with their feet. (Ah, geez.)

An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain. (I know some people like that.)

Starfish don't have brains. (I know some people like that, too.)

And, the best for last . Turtles can breathe through their behinds. (And you think that I have bad breath!)

ELBOW LICKING
Elbow Licking
Contrary to popular urban legend, it is quite possible to lick your own elbow. Guinness World Records receives about five claims a day for this and we would like to stress the following point: being able to lick your own elbow is not, in any sense, a world record.
If you're one of the admittedly rare few who can lick your elbow, save it for the water cooler. Please don't email us!

Of course, if you have a super-long tongue longer than the current tongue world record then we'll be happy to get our tape measure out!

http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/content_pages/record.asp?recordid=48925

Thanks for the advice Bel...but they don't wanna hear from me. lol

The saying "it's so cold out there it could freeze the balls off a brass monkey" came from when they had old cannons like ones used in the Civil War. The cannon balls were stacked in a pyramid formation, called a brass monkey. When it got extremely cold outside they would crack and break off... Thus the saying.

Not to put too fine a point on this but, the cannon balls were made of cast iron. They were stacked on a piece of cast brass which was affixed to the deck of a ship. The brass plate, monkey, had divots or depressions in it that kept the balls from rolling away. The cannon balls were stacked on the monkey in pyramid fashion. When the weather turned way cold the brass monkey would shrink but the iron balls didn't... and "cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey."

This all took place back when the men were made of steel and the ships were made of wood...
